Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic said he ‘can’t wait to play in the World Cup’ after helping Serbia beat Portugal in the qualifiers for Qatar 2022.
Serbia completed a remarkable turnaround to win 2-1 in Lisbon and thus book their spot at the World Cup.
Vlahovic, who had a goal ruled offside and hit the woodwork during the match, was overjoyed after booking a place at Qatar 2022.
“I can’t wait to play in the World Cup,” he told the Serbian federation’s official website. “We want to go there and produce a great result.

“We have show that we can test everyone. The path to qualifying was extraordinary, we didn’t give up on anything and we deserved this prize.”
Vlahovic has been linked with a move away from the Viola in recent months, as the youngster decided against renewing with the Florentines.
He was asked about his future, as Tottenham and Arsenal are chasing his signature in the Premier League and Juventus are hoping to secure another deal with the Viola in Italy.
“I just want to work harder and have great hunger for wins and goals,” he said. “I’m very ambitious. If I do this, I think everything will fall into place eventually. At least I won’t regret that I could have done something different.”
