Ilic scored three goals in 30 appearances across all competitions with Verona last term.
He has returned to Manchester City after the end of his loan spell with the Gialloblu and his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in June 2022.
Ilic made his senior debut with the Serbia national team in June 2021 and has two international caps to his name.
If Ilic returns to Verona, he will work with new coach Eusebio Di Francesco given that Ivan Juric has joined Torino.
