Torino make formal bid for Praet

Torino have reportedly made a formal bid to sign Dennis Praet from Leicester City.

The Granata are on the lookout for a new midfielder, with coach Ivan Juric impatient for new signings at the Stadio Grande Torino.

According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A side have now made a formal bid for the Belgian midfielder.

Torino’s proposal is a loan offer with an obligation to buy for €15m and talks between them and the Premier League side are ongoing.

Praet, 27, played 106 games for Sampdoria between 2016 and 2019 before completing a €19m switch to the King Power Stadium.

Torino lost their first two Serie A games against Atalanta and Fiorentina.

The Granata’s coach Ivan Juric was fuming after their defeat in Florence on Saturday and urged the club to make new signings before the summer transfer window ends on August 31.

“This is a Torino team that in the last few years conceded 140 goals and mathematically avoided relegation only in the final rounds. I lost important players, I made my analysis,” he said.

“If you hire Juric as a coach, you have to do something with these players. I gave my honest, clear, sincere analysis. We are way behind schedule.”
