Roma still have Abraham doubt against Juventus

Tammy Abraham remains at risk for Roma’s showdown with Juventus this weekend, as he sustained heavy bruising while playing for England.

The striker limped off just 15 minutes into his substitute appearance in the 1-1 draw with Hungary at Wembley Stadium.

He received a nasty knock to the right ankle and flew back to Rome last night, undergoing tests at the Villa Stuart clinic.

According to the latest reports, there is no ligament damage, nor a particular sprain, but there is heavy bruising to the bone on the right ankle.

It remains to be seen how quickly it will absorb and heal, as Roma face Juventus in Serie A on Sunday.

If Abraham cannot start, then Jose Mourinho seems more likely to rely on Eldor Shomurodov than Borja Mayoral.

There is more reassuring news for Roma when it comes to Lorenzo Pellegrini, who is now fully back in training after missing just one day’s work with a slight fever.
