Milan are reportedly ready to sign a new deal with Stefano Pioli, as CEO Ivan Gazidis arrives in Italy on Thursday to sort out the final details.
Pioli has been bombarded with questions regarding his own future at Milanello, as the former Inter coach has guided the Rossoneri to the top of Italian football.
Milan were struggling to compete with the best before Pioli arrived, but the steady rise has continued after the initial improvement under the former Fiorentina and Lazio coach.
Pioli on Milan future and Italy ambitions
The 56-year-old’s men are joint leaders with Napoli in Serie A, still unbeaten domestically and currently with 32 points after 12 games.
Pioli has an average of 1.97 points in 104 games with the Diavolo and the 10 wins in Serie A 2021-22 has prompted the media to demand answers regarding the contractual situation of the coach.
The coach was given the Lega Serie A Coach of the Month award in October and Milan are working to tie him down to a new deal at San Siro.
Pioli’s deal expires in June 2022, but the extension seems imminent. The outlet claims only formalities are missing before Milan announce the new deal with the Serie A veteran.
The report believes the renewal could arrive already as early as next week and reveals the Rossoneri CEO Gazidis will arrive in Italy to complete the operation and sign with Pioli.
