Napoli’s Hirving Lozano is in ‘stable condition’ after suffering a head injury in a Golden Cup match between Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago.
The Mexico winger was taken to hospital after a collision with the opposition goalkeeper. He immediately received medical treatment and was stretched off the pitch with a neck brace. He first seemed motionless but was later seen moving around his arms.
The Mexico national team released a medical update saying the 25-year-old is ‘stable and conscious,’ adding that ‘he will be medically examined.’
Napoli confirmed in an official statement that Lozano’s conditions ‘do not cause concern.’
The Mexico international will undergo magnetic resonance imaging and Napoli’s doctor Raffaele Canonico ‘is in constant contact with the Mexican medical staff to receive updates on the condition of the Azzurri striker.’
