Mourinho ‘raises the bar’ at Roma

Roma director Francesco Calvo is confident Jose Mourinho will ‘raise the bar’ at Roma and reveals he is obsessed with the details.

The Special One signed a three-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico, his return to Serie A after winning the Treble with Inter in 2010.

“Since the announcement of Mourinho’s arrival, there has been immense enthusiasm both among the fans and within the club,” Calvo told DAZN.

“He is a coach who will raise the bar at Roma. People say the devil is in the details, and Mourinho is very focused on that element. This is why we feel optimistic.”

One of the first changes Mourinho made to the Trigoria training ground was introducing a huge screen next to the pitch, so he can use drone footage of their sessions and show the players their mistakes in real time.

The Giallorossi reached the Europa League semi-finals under Paulo Fonseca last season, but finished seventh in Serie A.
