Director Beppe Marotta insists today’s match against Napoli will not be ‘decisive’ for the Scudetto, but refuses to rule out Inter poaching Lorenzo Insigne for free. ‘We watch for favourable situations on the market.’

Although joint leaders Milan lost 4-3 at Fiorentina last night, their first loss of the campaign, Marotta won’t hear talk of this game being a Scudetto decider.
“I agree with Simone Inzaghi, this will not be a decisive fixture, as it is still early days in the season,” Marotta told DAZN.
“The result will mean a great deal, but so will the performance, which must be convincing. We need to realise that we are capable of challenging for the Scudetto this season as well.”
This is a return to San Siro for the first time as an opponent since Luciano Spalletti was sacked to make way for Antonio Conte just over two years ago.
“It’s a good combination between coach, club and players. I am happy for him, as Spalletti is a fine coach, he did very well with us too, but football has cycles that open and close. We have the utmost admiration and respect for him.”
Marcelo Brozovic is negotiating a new contract, as his current deal will expire at the end of the current campaign.
“We still have to get into the thick of negotiations, but all the directors at Inter are thinking positive. He is very happy at Inter, so I hope he can continue his experience at this glorious club, because it’s not easy to find other clubs who can give Brozovic what Inter did, and at the same time remember all that he gave to Inter.”
Marotta was asked about the reports Inter are the favourites to sign Insigne should he leave Napoli as a free agent at the end of the season.
Tellingly, the director did not deny there was an interest in the Italy international and Partenopei captain.
“It is up to us to take any favourable situations on the market, but it is not fair to say anything now because he is a direct opponent this evening.
“It’s about evaluating the situations one by one and seeing how they develop.”
