There are reports suggesting that a group of Spezia fans clashed with Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano during one of La Viola’s training sessions in Moena.
Italiano signed a two-year deal with the Tuscans replacing Gennaro Gattuso, who had parted ways with the club after just 23 days in charge.
Fiorentina activated a €1m release clause to get Italiano from Spezia after that the latter had agreed to continue with the Aquilotti.
Spezia accuse Italiano of ‘disrespecting’ club
Spezia had even released a statement accusing Italiano of disrespecting the club at the end of June and a group of Aquilotti fans showed up to Fiorentina’s training in Moena today to criticise the 43-year-old.
According to Calciomercato.com and Tuttomercatoweb, Spezia fans insulted their former coach and blamed him for leaving the club on the cheap.
Italiano seemed annoyed and hit back, saying he spent two seasons at the club despite being underpaid.
