Getafe President Angel Torres insists Napoli have not even approached them for Mathias Olivera and in any case he’s available only for the €20m release clause.
Olivera was mentioned by Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia as a potential new left-back for the Partenopei, should Emerson Palmieri prove too difficult to prise away from Chelsea.
However, the cost of the two operations would it seems be very similar.
“So far, I have not spoken to Napoli, the only rumours have come from the media,” Torres told Calcio Napoli 24.
“My intention is not to break up the team. We have no particular need to sell, so unless someone pays the €20m release clause, then Olivera is staying here.”
The 23-year-old left-back represented Uruguay at Under-20 level on 28 occasions, finding the net three times.
His contract with Getafe currently runs to June 2023.
