Atalanta patron Antonio Percassi put the brakes on reports they have a deal for AZ Alkmaar midfielder Teun Koopmeiners. ‘We are evaluating lots of players.’
Tuttosport had suggested this week that an offer had been made for €20m and that was close to the asking price.
He has also been linked with Roma and Arsenal, who still might be in the running.
“We are evaluating many players and must understand with the coach if the characteristics are right to suit Atalanta’s playing style,” Percassi told L’Eco di Bergamo newspaper.
Koopmeiners is a 23-year-old product of the AZ Alkmaar academy and his contract runs to June 2023.
He scored 17 goals and provided seven assists in 40 official matches this term.
