Arsenal have joined the clubs ready to swoop for Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, as Juventus and Liverpool seem reticent.
The Turkey international will be a free agent when his contract expires on June 30.
He wanted a better wage deal than the €4m plus bonuses on offer at San Siro, but has struggled to find other alternatives.
According to various sources, the only real proposal comes from Al-Duhail and Calhanoglu would rather not make that step at the age of 27.
Juve, Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona were vaguely linked, but didn’t make a formal offer.
This even prompted suggestions Calhanoglu could reconsider and accept the Milan terms.
However, CBS Sports and The Mirror newspaper now claim Arsenal are in the running, seeing him as an alternative to Martin Odegaard and Emi Buendia.
