When Manchester City can win the Premier League title following Man United vs Liverpool postponement

Manchester City could have reclaimed the Premier League title last Sunday – before protests at Old Trafford put a hold on that possibility.

Having eased past Crystal Palace 2-0 on Saturday, City would have clinched the top-flight crown if Liverpool had beaten Manchester United 24 hours later.

But United vs Liverpool was called off by the Premier League after protests against the home side’s owners turned ugly and a group of fans broke into the stadium.

When can Man City win the title?

City can now be crowned champions on Saturday, May 8.

Pep Guardiola’s side are 13 points ahead of second-place United and have four games left to play of the season, while their neighbours have five games remaining.

City simply need to claim two more points to clinch the title and a win against Chelsea at the Etihad on Saturday in the 5.30pm kick-off will wrap things up.

Should they draw or lose, they could still win it this weekend if United do not better their result at Aston Villa on Sunday.

A treble is on the cards for City, who have already wrapped up the Carabao Cup.

City are also still competing in the Champions League and take on Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals of Europe’s elite competition.

They won the first leg 2-1 in Paris and the second leg takes place on Tuesday – live on talkSPORT.
