Tottenham striker Harry Kane urged to join up with Pep Guardiola at Man City this summer – ‘They’re the ideal match’

Adrian Durham reckons Pep Guardiola could take Harry Kane to even greater heights and has urged the Tottenham frontman to join up with the Manchester City boss this summer.

Spurs’ Carabao Cup final defeat to Man City on Sunday has once again led to calls for Kane to quit the north London club in order to enhance his own personal ambition to win trophies.

The England captain, who is said to be a target for City and Manchester United this summer is once again having a superb campaign, having hit 21 goals and added 13 assists in 30 Premier League outings this term.

Drive host Durham is desperately keen to see the Spurs frontman join up with Guardiola and sees the pair working together as a match made in heaven.

“I really want to see what Pep can do with Kane,” he told talkSPORT.

“Harry Kane is the ultimate pro and he will listen to what Pep says and do exactly what he says.

Earlier this week, Danny Murphy tipped both Kane and Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland to make transfers to Manchester clubs this summer.

Haaland – who hit two against Wolfsburg last weekend to take his Bundesliga tally to 25 for the season – is also a target for several clubs despite Dortmund’s insistence he will stay for at least one more campaign.

Murphy believes both strikers are destined for Manchester clubs – though he is unsure which of them will join City and who will move to United.

“I think the desire from the two Manchester clubs will be to get to the next level, especially Man United. I think £100m [for Kane] from United or City is doable.

“I think Haaland will go to one of them and Kane will go to the other.”
