Cristiano Ronaldo will make his Champions League return for Manchester United this week as Europe’s elite competition gets under way once again.

Chelsea beat Manchester City to claim Europe’s top prize last season and now clubs across the continent are gearing up for the new campaign.

The Blues as well as United, Man City and Liverpool will be in action in the Champions League this term and there will be plenty of attention on a certain Ronaldo.

The Portugal superstar crowned his second United debut with a stunning brace against Newcastle last weekend and now he’ll want to make a similar impact in Europe.

United face Young Boys on Tuesday – which will be live on talkSPORT 2 – and Ronaldo will be looking to add to his incredible Champions League record.

The 36-year-old is the all-time leading UCL scorer and currently has a staggering 134 goals to his name.

His great rival Lionel Messi has 120 Champions League goals in his remarkable career and will be in action for new club Paris Saint-Germain against Club Brugge this week.

Robert Lewandowski helped Bayern Munich clinch European glory in 2020 and will be out to add to his Champions League goals record when they take on Barcelona – also live on talkSPORT 2.
