Man City ready to offer Tottenham one of four stars, including Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez, as they plot Harry Kane transfer

Manchester City’s pursuit of Tottenham star Harry Kane is set to intensify with one of four players potentially available as part of the deal.

Following Sergio Aguero’s departure last season, City manager Pep Guardiola is looking to sign a replacement and has been a huge admirer of the England captain.

A £100million bid has reported but that attempt was rebuffed by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

That however has not done anything to put the club off with French publication L’Equipe suggesting that one of Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva could be offered to sweeten the deal.

It is perhaps a surprise to see some of those players on that list to bring Kane in given how reliable they were for Guardiola last season.

Mahrez played 48 times last season in all competitions and had 23 goal contributions, while Silva was also heavily involved and played 45 times contributing 14 goals.

Guardiola took Man City to the Premier League title last season but he still wants to make major signings to improve his side

Sterling had an incredible European Championship as one of Gareth Southgate’s key men in England’s journey to the final.

He did however see himself out of Pep’s team quite often last season and given that he only has two years left on his contract, he may have no choice but to leave City for Spurs.

Levy has been known to be quite a stubborn negotiator and given that his star player still has three years left on his contract, he is in no rush to see Kane move on.

Sterling was a revelation at Euro 2020 but might find himself leaving Man City in the summer

Spurs’ talisman however will be desperately hoping for the move to go through.

He enjoyed one of his best seasons ever as he became only the sixth player in Premier League history to secure the award for most goals and assists in a campaign.

Andy Cole, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Thierry Henry, Didier Drogba and Robin van Persie were the others to achieve that feat.

Following Spurs’ poor season it is clear to see why Kane wants to leave and with the financial power that City possess it might be a case of when and not if we see the England captain in a sky blue shirt.
