Liverpool star Nat Phillips attracts transfer interest from four Premier League sides and Bayer Leverkusen after impressive spell replacing Virgil van Dijk

Nat Phillips’ strong end to last season for Liverpool has seen him become transfer target for several Premier League clubs.

During the club’s centre-back crisis last term, the 24-year-old defender played 20 times for the club to help them secure third place in the Premier League and Champions League qualification.

Phillips shone in the absence of Liverpool’s usual defenders Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez

A string of impressive performances have now seen West Ham United, Newcastle United, Burnley, Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen from Germany look into signing the player, according to Sky Sports.

Phillips would command a fee of £15million and, should he leave, Brighton are apparently willing to match this price.

Given Ben White’s imminent departure to Arsenal it is no surprise to see the south coast club target Phillips.

The lure of European football might be more appealing to Phillips, though, thus a move to West Ham or Leverkusen might be on the cards.

Phillips will have a tough time being picked for Liverpool this season so a move may be best for his career

Both teams will be competing in the Europa League this season and Phillips is no stranger to German football after a spell at Stuttgart during the 2019/20 season, where he played 22 games for the club.

Phillips may also seek a move given he’s now had a taste of first-team football and the fact Liverpool now have Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip back from injury.

They also recently signed another central defender in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for £36m.
