Josh Taylor has told talkSPORT he feels ‘almost unbeatable’ at present.
The undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO super-lightweight world champion unified all four major titles with his win over Jose Ramirez in May.
The phenomenal victory over in America saw Taylor propel himself up boxing’s pound-for-pound list, meaning he is universally recognised as one of the best fighters in the sport today.
His next fight has now been announced – a mandatory defence against the unbeaten Jack Catterall on December 18 in Glasgow.
Ahead of the fight, Taylor told White and Jordan on talkSPORT: “I’m improving all the time.
“I really think every day I’m in the gym I’m improving.
“I feel it’s gonna take a real, real, special fighter to beat me at the minute.
“Unless I have an off-night, a bad at the office, and I don’t get the result I’m after.
“But on my current form and the way I’m feeling at the minute, I feel really, really tough and almost unbeatable.
“No-one’s unbeatable, but it’s gonna take a huge task for somebody to beat me at the minute, the form I feel I’m in.”
Taylor’s fight has been announced as part of the new Sky Sports Boxing schedule.
With Eddie Hearn taking his stable over to DAZN, Sky have agreed deals with BOXXER (for their UK shows) and Top Rank (to air their US content in the UK).
The two companies will come together to stage Taylor vs Catterall on December 18, with the fight put together by Top Rank and logistics of hosting in the UK sorted by BOXXER.
