FIFA 22 ratings revealed: Lionel Messi highest rated player but Cristiano Ronaldo is overtaken in second as Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Harry Kane also feature in top 22 players list

FIFA’s Ultimate Team is the most popular game mode in EA’s football game that has taken the world by storm over the years.

It was initially released on FIFA 09, and the main focus as the new season starts are always the players’ cards and ratings.

There’s a shock in store for Cristiano Ronaldo and his fans…

Some of the biggest names in football have changed clubs, which can have a huge effect on Ultimate Team as the chemistry between players is a deciding factor for many.

Lionel Messi departed Barcelona in a shock move to Paris Saint-Germain and joins the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid for a return to Manchester United in the summer.

When is it being released?

FIFA 22 will be released on Friday, October 1.

An Ultimate Edition will give you four days early access from Monday, 27 September.

Player ratings and card information are usually released in the lead-up to the release date, around two weeks before.

EA Sports FIFA have released the ratings of the top 22 players
The ratings include many Premier League stars but there will be a few debates

Ronaldo’s card this year however, knocks him off the top two cards for the first time since FIFA 10 despite his continual record breaking.

Potential Premier League best XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, van Dijk, Varane, Robertson, De Bruyne, Kante, Son, Ronaldo, Kane, Salah.

Predictions for remaining players

There will be numerous strikers to choose from this season especially in the Premier League, with the addition of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea providing an ideal target man as his card is likely to be increased from 85.

Jack Grealish is another player who had received a considerably low rating for his initial gold card.

His move to Manchester City and valuable game-time for the champions along with his EURO 2020 efforts will potentially see his card rise from 80 to over 84.

Hundreds of millions buy the new FIFA each year, FIFA 21 sold over 325 million copies

FIFA don’t often give out huge increases to player’s ratings, but during the season will release various Team of the Year, Month and Week cards to fully replicate current performances.
