Joseph Parker narrowly edged Derek Chisora in a split decision in Manchester in a heavyweight slugfest.

The Kiwi was on the floor after just seven seconds as Chisora landed a huge overhand right from the opening bell.

Chisora was bringing the heat to the former world champion, but he began to run out of gas as the fight progressed.

Parker’s boxing skills eventually paid the price as he battered the veteran into submission in a thrilling fight.

Elsewhere, Katie Taylor retained her lightweight titles in a thrilling fight against Natasha Jonas which exploded from the very first bell.

Campbell Hatton moved to 2-0 as a pro as he showcased tenacity and desire against Levi Dunne.

Chris Eubank Jr ended his 16-month ring absence with an obscure performance against Marcus Maddison, appearing to let the Mancunian off the hook on several occasions when he had him hurt.

And there was victory for Dmitry Bivol in his WBA light heavyweight title fight against Craig Richards, whilst Scott Fitzgerald also bounced back with a win.

However, there was heartbreak for James Tennyson as he was stopped inside one round by the unfancied Jovanni Straffon on a thrilling night in Manchester.
