Brighton are now poised to make a bid as they look to replace Ben White.

White, 23, is set to join Arsenal in a £50million deal this week.

Phillips came through Liverpool’s academy, although he started his youth career at local club Bolton, and made his first-team breakthrough last season after injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

He impressed after being given his chance, going on to make 20 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side in 2020/21.
