Anderson Silva sends heartfelt message to Chris Weidman following horrific leg break at UFC 261

Anderson Silva sent a heartfelt message to Chris Weidman after he suffered a horror leg break at UFC 261 on Saturday night.

The middleweight broke his leg in the opening seconds of his bout with Uriah Hall when he attempted to throw the first strike of the bout.

As soon as Weidman landed the kick, his leg folded

Upon impact, Weidman’s leg snapped and he crumbled back with the entire arena aghast at what happened.

The fight was immediately called off and Hall awarded the victor as the medics got into the octagon and went to work on Weidman.

He’d be stretchered out of the octagon and taken to a local medical facility, but did manage to give the cheering audience a thumbs up to let them know he was okay.

Silva suffered a similarly horrific leg break while fighting Weidman back in December 2013 at UFC 168.

The Spider sent a message to the UFC fighter on Instagram following the nasty injury on Saturday.

He wrote: “My deepest and most sincere sentiments champ. Have faith, I wish you a speedy recovery. In this moment I wish you and your family light, love and knowledge.

“To the fans of the sport, please respect this moment of this incredible warrior and let’s wish that he is 100% very recovered soon. May God bless you and your family @chrisweidman.”
