Montpellier strike deal to sign Leo Leroy from Châteauroux

Our colleague Mohamed Toubache-TER reports that Ligue 1 club Montpellier have struck a deal to sign 21-year-old midfielder Leo Leroy from French second division outfit Châteauroux at the end of the current campaign.

Leroy, son of ex-professional Jerôme Leroy, signed his first professional contract in February 2019 and with Châteauroux being relegated to the French 3rd tier, is set to experience top flight football for the first time.

All that is left is for the two clubs to announce the deal – Leroy has made 30 appearances for Berri and been a critical asset, a brief ray of sun, in an otherwise dark campaign for Châteauroux.
