Mauricio Pochettino not satisfied at PSG, would not be against returning to Premier League

RMC Sport report this evening that Mauricio Pochettino is not entirely satisfied with his time at Paris Saint-Germain so far and would not be against leaving, amid links to the Manchester United job from UK press.

The Argentine has yet to speak to the PSG management about leaving, meaning his position remains unclear. Pochettino is under contract until the summer of 2023, while Manchester United have not reached out to the Ligue 1 side.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has no intention of addressing the rumours, and he does not believe to be the one to have ignited them. Nevertheless, it is no secret that Pochettino believes the atmosphere at the club is hard to manage, and has in several recent interviews spoken of the pressure placed on him to win.

Although he is able to influence recruitment decisions and important choices, several aspects are also imposed on him, without being able to have a say. As a result, the former Argentina international would not be against a return to the Premier League, where the manager’s role is more all-encompassing than that of a mere coach, as it is in France.

Pochettino is not necessarily unhappy at PSG, but he is unable to put in place what he wants to. Amid the complete uncertainty, it is unlikely that the rumours of a move to Manchester United will be quelled soon.

As for Zinédine Zidane, his name is regularly brought up among the PSG management, although no discussions have been undertaken with the former Real Madrid manager.
